Retrospective consecutive cohort study of adult axSpA patients in France (January 2000 – August 2023) using the THIN database. Analysis of the time and diagnostic journey from first primary care records to axSpA diagnosis. Among 22,800 patients with a new axSpA diagnosis, 7,313 met inclusion criteria of whom 4,402 (60.2%) had a history of back pain.
Read articleRetrospective cohort study using THIN data (primary care) to assess healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and direct and indirect costs among adults with long COVID in France (March 2020 – December 2022). Long COVID defined per WHO definition (symptoms ≥ 3 months post-infection). Mean annual cost: €2,443 per patient in the first year post-diagnosis.
Read articleRetrospective cohort study using THIN data to assess HCRU and direct medical costs in children (< 18 years) with mild-to-moderate long COVID in France (March 2020 – December 2022). Of 27,537 children diagnosed with acute COVID-19, 3,888 developed long COVID. Mean annual cost: €823 per patient in the first year post-diagnosis.
Read articleAssessment of the incidence and prognostic impact of post-TAVI coronary events (CE) in patients who underwent TAVI for native aortic stenosis (BE or SE valves), from the France-TAVI registry (2013–2021). CE occurred in 11.6% of patients (1.5%/year). Revascularization by angioplasty was associated with better prognosis.
Read articleRetrospective study of the France-2 and France-TAVI registries (2010–2022) linked to the SNDS, evaluating the incidence, predictors and long-term outcomes of reinterventions (explantation or redo-TAVI) after a first TAVI. Reinterventions remain rare and mostly early; 6-year mortality is high.
Read articleMulticentre retrospective study (STOP-AS and France-TAVI registries) of TAVI outcomes in patients with moderate-to-severe native aortic regurgitation (pure regurgitation), treated with latest-generation valves designed for aortic stenosis. Outcomes at 30 days and long-term (up to 4 years).
Read articleAssessment of the impact of permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantation post-TAVI on short- and long-term mortality and risk of hospitalisation for heart failure. France-TAVI data linked to the SNDS (2013–2019). Post-TAVI PPM was associated with increased risk of 5-year mortality and hospitalisation for HF.
Read articleStudy of the incidence of paravalvular leak (PVL ≥ grade 2) and patient–prosthesis mismatch (PPM), their risk factors, and impact on long-term clinical outcomes after TAVI. Among 47,494 TAVI patients in France (Jan 2010 – Dec 2019), 17,742 had PPM data and 20,878 had PVL data.
Read articleComparative study of long-term mortality, bleeding and ischaemic event rates post-TAVI in patients on oral anticoagulation, comparing direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) vs vitamin K antagonists (VKA). France-TAVI and France-2 data linked to the SNDS (2010–2017), with propensity score to reduce selection bias.
Read articleDevelopment of a probabilistic algorithm to match France-2 and France-TAVI registry data with the SNDS. Objective: achieve 90% matching rate to reduce loss to follow-up and fill data gaps. Mortality curves from the SNDS and eCRFs were nearly superimposable.
